Pursuing Life

I don’t do New Year’s resolutions. Those are just disappointment and shame waiting to happen. And I don’t know about you, but I don’t need either of those things in my life. Several years ago, someone introduced me to having a word for the whole year to focus on and it is something I have adopted. It has served me well. I am continually amazed at how on target each word has been for me.

My word for 2021 was Open. Having this word at the forefront forced me to consider things that I would have dismissed before. Things that I didn’t have the confidence to attempt. I started writing again because of this word. I also started this blog. I began to really take my health journey seriously.

This year, my word is Intentional. I want to put intention towards all of the important people and things in my life, to be purposeful in all I do. I want to build upon everything I was open to in the last year and thoughtfully pursue those things. I want to try to become all that I am meant to be. I want to value the things that give me life instead of draining it.

As we begin this journey into 2022, may you pursue life with thoughtfulness and intention. May you dare to dream and go after those dreams. May this year bring far more than you can imagine.

This post was inspired by the word Life. I invite you to read these posts by other hope*writers on the theme of Life.
